2017 Autumn Tests

There’s nothing like being there, with so much pride and passion on display, where friends and family come together to support Scotland #AsOne!

Scotland play New Zealand, Australia and Samoa at BT Murrayfield this November in the fastest-selling Autumn Tests ever! Come and experience everything that’s great about Scottish rugby, from the world class action on the pitch, to BT Murrayfield’s famous welcoming atmosphere. Tickets are still available for the opening game against Samoa, and although the other two games are sold out you can put your name down on a Waiting List, as it’s possible there could be a further limited release of tickets.

Scotland v Samoa | Autumn Tests 2017

SCOTLAND v SAMOA

Scotland’s first game of the season is also Gregor Townsend’s first home game as head coach and we’re throwing a huge party to celebrate! We look forward to you being part of #OurDay.

You’ll find something to eat, drink and keep you entertained no matter where you are the stadium. The best place for families and friends to meet before the game is the West Fan Village, which opens 3 hours before kick-off, and offers a great range of food and drink, live entertainment and fun activities the whole family can enjoy. Scotland’s official mascot Lochie will be there with his mates, Clyde and Flinty, to welcome you to the stadium, so be sure and take a picture with them!  We’ll keep this page updated with more details on what you can expect to see on matchday as the game approaches.

This is the first time Samoa have played in Scotland since 2010. However, they’ve met three times since then, with the most recent only two years ago during the 2015 Rugby World Cup, when a late Greig Laidlaw try sealed a dramatic 36-33 victory and passage to the quarter-finals.

Ticket Availability

If you’ve already bought your tickets or Autumn Test package you should receive them in the post by the end of October (approximately two weeks prior to the game).  If you haven’t bought your tickets yet, don’t leave it too late! Tickets start at £15 for adults, £10 for U18s. Children under 12 tickets only cost £1 with every £15 adult ticket purchased (limited time special offer and subject to availability). Tickets available from www.scottishrugbytickets.com.

Scotland v New Zealand | Autumn Tests 2017

SCOTLAND v NEW ZEALAND

The All Blacks are current world champions, the number one ranked team in the world and are following up the summer’s dramatic drawn series with the British & Irish Lions with some brilliant performances in the Rugby Championship.

Despite a few close encounters over the years, Scotland have never beaten New Zealand in Test rugby.  However, earlier this year the Scotland 7s famously became the first Scottish team to beat New Zealand (on their way to way winning the London 7s, the final leg of the HSBC World Sevens Series at Twickenham, for the second consecutive year). New head coach Gregor Townsend has already led Scotland to a win over Australia (in the Summer Tour) – can he pick up where the 7s team left off and guide Scotland to victory over New Zealand at BT Murrayfield?

Scotland v Australia | Autumn Tests 2017

SCOTLAND v AUSTRALIA

If the last three games between these two countries is anything to go by, then this climax to the Autumn Test Series should be a thriller!

In the quarter-final of the 2015 Rugby World Cup, Australia won by a point (32-33) despite a late Mark Bennett try which put the Scots into the lead with a couple of minutes left on the clock. A year later at BT Murrayfield, despite Scotland scoring three tries to two (with a couple from debut centre Huw Jones) the Wallabies again won by a point (22-23).

However, this summer Scotland went one better, beating Australia 24-19 in Sydney in Gregor Townsend’s second game in charge. The Wallabies have played some scintillating rugby in their games against New Zealand and South Africa in the Rugby Championship and will be in determined mood to avenge their home defeat against Scotland when they come to BT Murrayfield. What a way to end the Autumn Tests!
